In an attempt to harmonise data privacy laws across its member nations, the EU’s GDPR upholds consumers’ interests at large, while testing the efficacy of all businesses. However, many organisations often struggle to ensure compliance with the changing GDPR mandates. As a result, they not only suffer monetary losses but also sustain a blow to their reputation. Jiří Kadlec, industry expert and CEO of Datalite, states, “GDPR mandates strict compliance procedures for companies, fuelling the need for robust software tools that can resolve GDPR complexities."

To assist companies in bridging this gap, Datalite collaborated with eminent lawyers and devised an innovative cloud-based application–eDPO–for the effective implementation and orchestration of GDPR. The one-stop solution performs risk analysis and compliance evaluations in accordance with GDPR, thereby ‘centralising the enterprise data knowledge into one intuitive platform.’ Effectively, the comprehensive eDPO platform methodically stores information related to the GDPR processes in data catalogues and helps customers in every step of their compliance journey.

Speaking further, Kadlec mentions that eDPO primarily over sees risk management functions for clients and helps them to maintain data integrity in line with GDPR norms. In essence, eDPO analyses the compliance processes, identifies probable security threats, determines the apt corrective measures, and implements an effective defence mechanism against any threat could tamper data sets.

Our product allows us to make a multistage level security or risk analysis–low, medium, and advanced–related to GDPR

The analytical tool thereby overhauls data protection and assists companies through all the stages of GDPR compliance. Figuratively, eDPO proves to be highly beneficial for organisations, holdings, commissioners, schools, regional authorities, municipalities, and others. The user-friendly software also allows bulk implementations for multiple organisations at once.

Stressing on the efficacy of this robust software, Kadlec further informs, “Our product allows us to make a multistage level security or risk analysis–low, medium, and advanced–related to GDPR. Based on the corresponding output, our customers proceed with the next steps of security and GDPR compliance procedures.” To illustrate more on the impressive results generated through eDPO, the CEO shares a case study of ČEVAK—a Czech Republic-based water-works company—that was unable to align their services with the EU’s newly enforced data protection laws and was on the lookout for optimal resolutions. As a customer-oriented company that values relationships with its clients above all, Datalite guided ČEVAK through the entire GDPR process, educated its DPO managers on the proper implementation of the corrective measures, and made the client GDPR-ready in a shortspan of four months. Kadlec highlights that ČEVAK has been using eDPO ever-since, effectively navigating through the turbulence associated with GDPR; it has not only enabled the client to maintain compliance, but also implement the regulations seamlessly.

This is but one of the many fruitful collaborations that have been facilitated by the breakthrough solution, eDPO. Besides elucidating the GDPR complexities, Datalite is streamlining the internal technical processes such as the OSS domain of telecommunication operators through its Telco Service Management (TSM)suite.

Bolstered by the ingenuity of such compliance tools and the ingrained knowledge of its employees, the Praha-based firm is effectively eradicating the risk of privacy violations related to GDPR. Streamlining numerous successful implementations and operations pertaining to GDPR, it is thereby evident that Datalite is gearing up to transform the GDPR compliance landscape in the upcoming years.
